Weird Graphics Errors In Select Games

I've been getting weird graphics errors in certain games and I can't seem to figure out why.

In Rallisport Challenge 2, the people on the sides of the road have no arms or legs...they're just bouncing torsos.

In Brothers in Arms, the squad members have no torsos. Heads, hands, and equipment render fine.

I couldn't even get the game portion of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory to work. When I'd try to start the main game, I'd just have a blank screen with the UI over it, and occasionally a large gray polygon would flash on the screen. The sound was also very choppy. If I tried one of the multiplayer tutorials, I'd get a picture, but the framerate would be in the toilet, maybe 5fps max--same choppy sound.

My XBox is NOT modded, outside of a SD-616 DVD drive. These are the only three games I've come across that exhibit these errors--all of my other games work perfectly fine. In the case of Splinter Cell, I went through 3 copies of the game at Blockbuster before I gave up.

Any ideas as to what's wrong?
