Projector?
« on: June 30, 2005, 01:16:00 PM »

Wow a very vague question...

Plug it into power.
Turn it on and make sure that the screen is correctly aligned.
Press setup/menu on the remote and make sure that your menu is in focus.

Connect the xbox to the desired video input on the projector.

Press the setup/menu button again and look for your video setup ( many projectors autodetect video but some dont ) If applicable make sure that you have the correct input selected.

Power on your xbox - Insert game - Enjoy.

If it has been hooked up to your PC it will most likely be trying to still use the VGA port - Make sure that only the xbox is plugged in using the yellow RCA on the standard cord.

If you can bring up an onscreen menu for the projector - Have a look at your settings - Make sure that it is set to standard video and not to vga/rgb.

Just keep at it and I am sure you will work it out.

If you know it works with a PC you'd be best off just getting a VGA adapter, picture quality on a screen that size from a composite video source will look like total trash anyway.

I hope you didn't spent too much money on that projector, it doesn't seem very Home Theater friendly.

There should be a video mode select button on either the projector or the remote.  On my projector it is called "Souce"

When i use a xbox cable (the original one with yellow, red, and white only), i plug it into the projector and select RGB mode and hit the source button until it shows.

you wont be sending a HD signal unless you use a component cable so it doesn't matter that it doesn't support it.

You could try connecting a dvd player and seeing if that works.  If one works, the xbox should be hooked up the same way.

You sure your XBOX isn't PAL and the projector is NTSC or the other way around?  A single RCA video connector is kinda' a no brainer.  It should just work.
