Jade Empire is a region free title, highly unlikely that it does not support 60Hz NTSC.

I have a softmodded Xbox (UXE w/ UnleashX). Every game I tried in PAL works just fine.

You can always patch up the game. All you need to do is bring the image file to your pc, then patch, then bring it back to your xbox.

Just do a google search for a good region patcher, for xbox.

Also, since pal tvs have more tv lines then american tvs, you won't see the whole image on your tv. you can get it really close, using a good patcher, but not the whole thing.

As far as I know, PAL games shouldn't give much trouble on NTSC-machines. Better said; some games even work better on it. (60hz vs. 50hz)

Maybe someone can mod a BIOS so that the video encoder outputs NTSC50 (yes, this 'standard' does exist tongue.gif )?

[edit]
To kill some misfacts in this topic: when you play a PAL-game on an NTSC-machine, you will not miss any lines (the resolution will simply be different), so no loss of image. Also, if you use an NTSC-Xbox, it will NEVER output PAL unless you change the EEPROM. So your TV doesn't have to support PAL with an NTSC-box.

What dashboard are you using, thehunter1320? If you're using Evox, try running the game from another one, like UnleashX or even XBMC, and tell us what happens.

wink.gif

download xboxhdm and use a backup of your eeprom to unlock and rebuild your hard drive. also make sure in future you use nkpatcher with a virtual C partition and a virtual EEPROM to avoid screwing things up. if you haven't backed up your eeprom than that's your own fault and you'll have to hotswap.

as for the black and white, that is because it is outputting in a format your TV does no support, if you live in the US its most likely PAL.

the majority of games will play fine in the other video mode (NTSC to PAL and vice versa) but several games will only play in the video mode corresponding to the region it was developed for.

many dumbasses think enigmah will solve all their problems but it doesn't as its not a case of it not switching correctly, it is forceably switching to its native mode and the TV simply does not support it.

either acquire an NTSC copy of the game, get a TV that supports NTSC and PAL, or search for a Jade Empire region patch and get lucky wink.gif  other than that nothing more can be done.

you can fix it without but you will have to hotswap your hard drive into your pc.

search the xbe exploits forum for daddyj's guide to hotswapping.

So there is no way to convert the game from PAL to NTSC.
