No Video And Audio
« on: June 05, 2005, 07:17:00 AM »

I`ve recived an bad v1,0 Motherboard, I`ve solder a pinheader and DuoX2 (blue).

When I power the ting up, only thing I get is a Black screen and no sound....Same thing if I disable the DuoX2 - black and no sound.

It`s not fragin on me either....(no red and green flashing).

I`ve rechecked my solder points over and over....same with the traces on the board...

So any guesses?

same here
bought a used xbox to fix and has the same problems.
*no sound
*no video
*no eject

the light just stays green.  i even unhooked the dvd drive and hdd and started it up and it still stayed green.  i tried using a different power supply, did the same thing

i discovered the fan is not working on the video chip.  i removed the fan and the heatsink and tested the temperature.   the video chip heats up very fast, so maybe that's the problem?

to my knowlege this xbox has never been modded.  the lpc points look clean

Well that didn't work for me

I've also tested with a chip (duox2 and x2 lite), but the box is still in COMA...

I thouht I could bypass the console coma problem with a LPC mod...but that didn't do it for me  :(

try sticking a lot of pressure on your MCPX chip. one of my units did this. I think I found the MB to be cracked as the problem. but if you apply alot of pressure and it turns over and you start to get boot. there is not much you can do. you can try to get a heat sink for the mcpX chip but you still need to find away to continue the pressure to make sure the connection in the crack stays good. Also this really could be a bad ground issue. I doubt that though. sens your not getting a frag. the system should frag if its not getting a good ground connection but it might very depending on the ground that is not working. Now if none of that helps your problem my just be the eprom chip. it could be croupt. In that case you will need to get a smartxx chip or a new eprom chip.

UPDATE:

I flashed my Duox2 with cromwell 2.40 - no I get a steady orange light, and I can eject my DVD-rom  blink.gif

First I tryed to flash my DuoX2 with a eeprom-patched cromwell, but that didn`t work, so I tryed a regular cromwell just for fun..... yeah that was fun - NOT...........

Looks like you're on your way to figuring this out.

I had identical symptoms just a bit ago. The TSOP (original XBOX bios) had gone bad, so I put in a chip with a new bios and it works perfectly.

Once you get your chip running and flashed with the hacked bios of your choice, you'll probably only be able to boot the hacked bios if the TSOP is wasted.

well I`ve already tryed X2 4983 - no luck, so I suppose I`m not working this out :(

With that bios I get a steady green light and a stuck DVD-rom...

Looks like I`ve to replace the board :(

No. . . don't replace the board just yet.

I flashed my DUOX2 with Evox M8+ and that solved it.

Now. . . I'm not trying to insult you, but you do know that powering on with the power button takes you to the FlashBios screen (or boots up the chip bios, if it's already loaded).

And powering on with the EJECT button causes the XBOX to boot from its own onboard TSOP.

Your TSOP is bad, in my opinion. SO using eject to power up is not an option.

Now, make sure your BT wire is going where it needs to go on the Power/Eject Assembly, too.

Also, make sure your switch on the DUOX2 is flipped to the back when you're trying to load a bios hacked bios like M8+. That boots up FlashBios instead of Cromwell.
