Definately worth it.
I own a vd-z3 myself.
It will convert any component video into vga, not just xbox (and it comes with a component video connecter with optical out for xbox).  Wheres x2vga only works with xbox.

The shipping on that site is probably cheap compared to other sites.

How much diffrence will i be able to see in games, ?

Can anyone post comparrison pictures, from normal tv, and 720p?

I recently brought a Samsung 32" LCD if you want to have a look it says that it can take upto a 1080i signal no problem. PC only works via VGA though.
There is a review here if you want to check the capabilities better than the samsung site gives.

Got it home, set my xbox to NTSC and then went into the dash to enable the HDTV modes via component leads to find that the picture looked fuzzy, like a double exposure horizontally on the screen.
Basically it looked awful, i'm sure this could be a problem with the TV or the Xbox and am waiting for a gamecube lead to test the progressive on USA cube games.
The only thing i can think is that it is a problem with the TV or due to the coax audio out i have added to the xbox board.

My question is has anyone else had this problem either with this TV or once they had added a coax port to the xbox or with any other problems?

I would be greatful for any ideas on this one.

can you have a HDTV that uses a DVI plug also. i thought i saw a HD satt receiver that had a DVI port for televisions

Roughly, having any of the connectors, except component, is usually a sure bet that your TV supports some kind of enhanced signal, at least 480p. Since your LCD tv doesn't seem to have component inputs, your only HD option is the DVI connector.

Since your LCD TV supports 1280x1024, and 720p is 1280x720, the panel itself can display full 720p resolution, but I'm not sure whether the TV can actually support a 720p  signal going into the decoder.
