Xbox Video Distribution
« on: March 07, 2005, 04:33:00 PM »

I want to be able to play my xbox from any room in my house.  i have seen expensive video distribution systems but i know there has to be a way to get the same results.

i have a craw space under my house so wiring isn't a huge concern.  If i run a line out from my xbox to my cable box i should be able to use some kind of modulator to insert the video into the cable signal.

you can buy amodulator for $5-15 but they only allow you to send the video to channel 3 or 4.  i want to be able to insert the video into an unused channel like 80-90

can you modify what frequency the modulator use?

any other ideas?

Something like this would work. I don't know about the price for this exact one but the have cheap ones you can buy.

those look like they would work, but im afraid they will interfere with the other wireless technologies i already use

plus i would think that a hard wired solutions would produce better quality

The wireless controller I had worked at the other end of my house. My house isn't that big though.

yea i have a wireless controller that uses rf.  i live in a townhome so i can use it from any room

i think the best solution would be to modify a modulator to use a higher channel number like 85.  by default most of them use channel 3 which also distorts all the channels around it (2-12).  i don't have any channels from 76 to 98 so 85 should be a good channel
