Vga Success...

Well, five days after I bought my 20" CRT ive finally gotten my Xbox to work with it just the way I wanted. I have switched my defaut dashboard to XBMC, this was the only way to get things to display without the green wash effect. I will never go back to using a TV for the Xbox display. The only thing I have yet to try on this bad bitch is a DVD, don't have a drive in the Xbox!

Thanks to who ever posted about using XBMC to lauch games.

When I initially flashed my chip with the iND-BiOS 5001 VGA monkey whatever, it booted right into Evox with no green at all. The flubber and all that jazz was just as it should be. The only time I got the green wash was booting applications or games from Avalaunch, with the exception of XBMC.

I guess it helps when your monitor is on the top of the food chain. It supports all three types of sync. Plus it has BNC connectors on the back, so all I had to do was flash the BIOS and hook up the HD pack! None of that hack job shit with sync seperators and whatnot.

yeah i have been frustrated by this sync splitter circuit. it doesnt seem to be working on any non-SOG CRT. it only shows green overlay but it works fine on my SOG LCD. makes jeebus sad.

wicked guide
make the parts you need out of it.
i chose the VGA and sync splitter circuit
i made my cable out of an HD pack which i got for free from my friend with the LM1881n chip.
the HD pack is nice because you dont need to modify much in the SCART plug except for the mode jumpers. everything else is already in the box which has the HD output.

make sure to read that thread before you ask any more questions.

Your best bet would be to buy a monitor with BNC connectors, then all you have to do is use the HD pack and a VGA BIOS and your set. Thats what I did, cost me $75 for the monitor and got the HD pack with my Xbox as a bundle deal. Honestly the best $75 ive spent on this Xbox!
