Play Xbox Game Music On Cd's As Mp3

Depends on the game.  I did this with the music in Amped and Amped 2 for example.  They were just in wma format.  Easy to grab and convert.

I want to know this as well... They are .asf files which are video files but not really, i don't want to spend $30 on some software to find out that it won't extract the audio from it because I have downloaded ASF-MP3 converters but the one's I've tried haven't worked

Go download one of the Halo 2 editing applications from halomods. Most now support audio extraction. I would recommend ADI.c or DotHalo as I found those easiest to use. Good luck!
