Tivo Like Front End
« on: January 19, 2005, 05:44:00 PM »

Hey guys, i recently built a pvr, and now i have it streaming to my xbox and im using xbmc and am pretty happy with it all, but i need a tivo like front end for my xbox so it looks and has the functionalty of it all.  I dont know what all that intails, but i am certain that i don't want to use linux, so this rules out mythTv.  I was hoping that you guys knew of another app.  I also was wondering if i had my pvr streaming to my xbox and i were to pause live tv on my xbox (which im not really pausing live tv, but am just pausing the stream) will it eat up my computer cpu power or the xbox's?  Thanks.

AFAIK, there's really no Tivo like frontend for the Xbox if you rule out mythtv.... either you use mythtv, or you stick to streaming with XBMC.

Nope its a pc running xp with gbpvr installed.  But anywho, i  would install linux and then mythTv, but i have no idea how to and all of the tutorials i read make no sence....this whole project has been a journey of mine and now i just want to get it so that i can enjoy looking at the tv screen.

p.s if anyone would like to help me i would install linux, or just point me in the direction of a SUPER NOOB tut.  Another thing is i dont want to have to boot up linux everytime i want to use mythtv...any suggestions? thanks.
