Is it possible to capture video off the Xbox onto the PC for editing and such? I want to make gamplay movies and such without buying a capture card.

You need a capture card to get it onto your PC....

Of course I know that, but it would be nice if there was a way to record gameplay with some kind of app and then upload the movie onto the PC.

I can take pictures like that, I know. I never heard of being able to record gameplay movies like that though?

Like I said, you'll need a capture card. As far as I've seen, there's no app that will record video gameplay. I think it would be too taxing on the system to play the game and encode video at the same time.

no you do not need a capture card. you can do it right over ethernet cable. in XDK (xbox development kit) there is an app to do that. you dont need to install xdk either. i have an app from xdk (free version) and you can just do video capture by pressing CAPTURE. you will need a little program that will set your xbox on a debug IP adress. its really really easy. but i gues i cant really help you out with the files tho. search for them in the usual places.

EDIT: THe program for you PC that you use to capture form the box is called xbmovie.exe or xbox movie capture tool
