720p Image 'rippling'
« on: November 30, 2004, 12:26:00 AM »

I'm using a PAL Xbox switched to NTSC using Enigmah on a Philips widescreen LCD monitor/TV. Connection is via third-party component cable. Getting a superb 480p image, but when I play 720p games such as SoulCalibur or The Urbz I get a 'rippling' effect, as though horizontal lines are rippling down the screen. The image is otherwise terrific, there's just this distracting ripple. It's more prominent in the top half of the screen than it is at the bottom.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of what might be causing this. The monitor has no trouble displaying hi-res at 60hz, I've unplugged all other cables and nothing seems to be causing interference as the picture is superb in all other cases. Has anyone else experienced - and maybe corrected - this problem?

Cheers,
Matt
