Google, Yahoo, DogPile, and WebCrawler turned up no results for an26939.pdf.

BTW, let me know what you find. I'm trying to put together a tutorial for the internal H/V-sync mods for all the boards that have a VGA capable BIOS that works for them.

I got the focus datasheet in my mail just now and all I can tell you is:
H-sync == Pin 35
V-sync == Pin 36

[deleted this post since it didn't make sense]

Just for the completeness of this topic, here are the points for Conexant (probably also for Focus) on the mainboard:

You can solve the color-init problem with some dashboards by not using mode 101 (1+3, VGA). You should use mode 110 (2+3, HDTV). This only works with iND 5001 and will also allow you to use 720p with your VGA-monitor.

Nah,that doesn't really help in my experience.,at least in the case of a focus based xbox (I don't have a conexant box with a vga mod to check, though). The worst part about this problem is that some emulators will be in green regardless of what you do because they use seperate xbes, which means that the XBMC trick won't work.I think it only applies to surreal and mameox but there may be others. What hdtv mode is good for is the fact that it outputs 480p instead of regular 640x480 which dodges the moire patterns I get on my screen in 640x480,so I'm happy smile.gif I'm a bit concerned about how PAL games will work in HDTV mode though, since some of them require the box to be in pal mode and if I'm not mistaken HDTV doesn't work with pal? I know that regular mode 1+3 does work with pal games,so hopefully it works here also.

Well spent about an hour researching all this, and i think that with a VGA cable and pins 35 & 36 of Focus chip going to 13 & 14 of VGA should make most monitor work with out a Sync splitter?right? So when I hook up my Hsync and Vsync i should get a singal to my monitor finaly, right? so it don't stay black w/o singal??
I wuz looking at this datasheet (.pdf)http://www.conexant....pdf?FileId=1813
and i got that their different chips but pretty much the same function, right?
 uhh.gif  uhh.gif  uhh.gif
well i think i'm going to try it.
any help out there? i could use it, i'm tired of these long days of searching
Thanks

Hi All,

I'm just about to try and mod my v1.4 internally so I've got a VGA female connector out in addition to the AVIP.

I'm a little lost as to the mode that I will use....

Ideally I want to use the VGA output symunltaneously with the Official PAL Advanced RGB Scart cable!
 - Is this possible?
 - What mode does the RGB Scart cable run in?

Cheers in advance.

It worked! sorta

I have Xbox V1.4 I'm using this method Internal Sync Signals. Ok so I ran the internal sync and pin 40 into the Schmitt-Trigger using 2 buffers for each sync. Now I check this on 4 of my monitors and 2 did something. The old old one just showd close scroling lines running sideways.

This other one gives me a picture and HD but theres still issues. Its got a lot of green but the real problem is its horizontal keeps jumping back and forth. some times outline of  images jump out. Tried Junkmonky's bios and the color is almost right, just white is a little yellowish and blue is mostly gone, but image is still the same in HD mode. All other modes makes the image look like its wraping around its self, cept RGB mode its like HD mode. But in all mode that uses a TV monitor still shows a picture.

For display timings monitor tells me (31.4kHz  59Hz pp). so what pp? well theres other user timings and Factory timings witch I cant select. Heres my monitor that gives me best results SyncMaster 753DF (.PDF). It has alot of features so I should be able to get a good picture? I'm so lost on what to do next.
Any help would be nice. I think I read everything on this subject.

well jacking tha internal sync wuzn't working as expected (mentioned this above).
so i used tha sync separators. I finally got a nice HD picture, colors are messed up though. i'm using a VGA bios being loaded off of PBL cuz i don't like to fash tsop. but its still got alot of green and little or no blue. and again only my Syncmaster monitor works, at least its a nice solid crisp picture.

QUOTE(RARusk @ Oct 5 2008, 11:47 PM) View Post

Sorry to bump up an old thread here.

Considering the length of time between the last post and this one has anybody been able to snag a copy of the datasheet of the FS454 or the Conexant chip? I would like to have a picture of the pinouts at least if anybody out there is nice enough to share that information.

Now we've moved onto the next generation of systems I am hoping that some of this information on previous systems may become easier to acquire (then again, maybe not - this is MicroSoft after all).

For the people of the future(and some people of the past like RARusk who was doing some cool things and might want to continue them if they had datasheets) and for posterity:

Complete Hardware Datasheet including Registers and pinouts:
http://www.scribd.co...4534FS4556HWv31

Complete Software Datasheet for those who want to program it to do cool things:
http://www.scribd.co...4534FS4556SWv31

A 2 page brief on the chips capabilities(for completeness)
http://www.scribd.co...ProductBriefv30

If anybody has trouble accessing them feel free to pm me and if I'm still using the internet and gmail I'll come back and fix it.
