Halo 2 Problem

I have a PAL Xbox and a PAL version of Halo 2 (running from the HDD). The game seems to run perfectly fine except that it is very dark, to the point where in dark areas I can’t see the gun in front of my face. I have of course boosted the brightness, contrast etc but don’t help much. I changed my Xbox to NTSC and that for some reason helps allot but not enough. All other games, movies look fine just not halo 2. Anyone else had this problem or have any ideas to fix? Thanks
