I think it is rather pointless to compare resolution differences on a monitor that can't display 480i.

Fair enough. The 480p and 720p pictures should be enough for anybody running @ 480i to  see the difference. I am going to remove the 480i pics.

Avalaunch shows;
480p=640x480
720p=1280x720
1080i=1920x1080

Well hell... I would mainely only be playing Halo 2 and it only supports 480p which is 640x480, and my TV is 640x480... so the VGA adapter is pointless with Halo 2... mayvbe slightelly better quality but no better res.

Even though your TV is 640x480 there is a substantial difference between  480i and 480p.  With 480i, only half of the lines are being displayed at once. Where as 480p is displaying all lines all the time.  I guess I was wrong. The pictures aren't good enough to accurately depict the difference.

I bought the VD-Z3 component to vga adapter found here: http://www.vdigi.com...id=36&Itemid=68, Its about $5 dollars cheaper then the x2vga and is basically the same. It can convert any component signal though not just the xbox, so I can use my gamecube as well, or PS2 if I had one. It's out of stock now though, It seems they always sell them quickly. There are reviews for it too with good screenshots.

What about showing Dashboard? I heard rumours that VDZ3 is'nt capable to show dashboard, since it is 480i. Is it true? How do you deal with it?
