X2vga2 Problem

When I boot the xbox I get sound but no display and my monitor says that the signal is out of range (mitsubishi 2070sb). The x2vga manual state that the 480i signal is too low for monitors to display so they've created the easyview function. Does this have to be turned on in some way?
