[Far Beyond Driven]

I've had this problem ever since my Xbox was modded.

I once asked the supplier why this was happening and he said I might need a new Evo-X. I've recently switched dashes to Avalaunch myself and installed the latest X2-Bios, but the DVD Movie quality is still sub-standard. I have a very patchy picture, which is very noticeable in darker areas and there is blurring in fast action scenes.

Has this happed before? How do I fix it?

Evox has nothing to do with DVD playback.  You could reinstall the MSFT dash - Slayers has one on there if you don't have your original backup.  Weird stuff.  Xbox isn't a great DVD player but it shouldn't be messing up this badly.  Did it work before it got modded?  Or I'm guessing from your mention of DVD2X that you never were able to watch DVDs before.  If games look fine and video from XBMC looks fine, get a new DVD2X and reinatall the MSFT dash.
