I am interested it connecting my xbox to my laptop comp so I can play it over my 15.4 widescreen, and my 5.1 speaker system. Is there and adapter I can buy or what do I need to do so I can achieve my goal? Thanks.

Uh, I'm assuming your friend used a PCMCIA or FireWire or USB 2.0 video input device?

Should be able to do it for around $300.

Remember it's not "normal" for laptops to have any type of video/VGA input, so what you are trying to do is not something the laptop makers design for or expect you to do.

Like they said you'll need a video capture device.  They will have to connect either via FireWire (if you have it) USB 2.0 (if you have it) or the PCMCIA card slot.

You're talking at least $150 for a good quality capture device (cheap ones are $50) and up to $500 for a really good one.

Lastly I think there would always be some video lag with a device like this.

Hi, I'm new to this VGA stuff, and I have recently purchased an XGA box (VGA box) and was wondering if it can be hooked up to my laptop screen as I have tried and failed? any suggestions will be appreciated,
thanks
