S-video Or Component Video?

I would assume component video since it is digital.

Component isn't digital!  It's analog, just like VGA!

Only DVI and FireWire (IEEE 1394) send a digital video signal.

Composte - Worst
S-Video - Better
Component - Best

Definately go the with the  component cables as your TV does support them because they give a crisper and more vibrant display. For component cables look at the Monster Component Cables there a bit pricey, but the cables are the best yet. Hope this helps!

Dont bother with monster cables?  Get the ms HD Pack its just as good.  It has adequate shielding.  I hope your TV supports 480p, you typed 480i.  If your set dosent support 480p, I would suggest that you just use s-video.

Even though you are only using the component for 480i, you will still get better picture with component cables(Whatever kind), than with svideo cabling.

Remember component seperates video into 3, svideo only seperates the video into 1 cable. More seperation=Better picture.Go with component even if you don't have 480p, 720i, or 1080i.

More seperation=More clarity.

Yeah, I've seen more blurring in high contrast images with S-Video when compared to component even on non 480p displays.

The MS HD/AV pack will be fine for you.

I used s-video first then I got the HD-Pack but I forgot to change the settings in the ms dash, the picture looked the same very slight difference.  But when I switched into the 480P mode it was a noticeable improvement.  Maybe it is dependent on the TV.  Even with my sat system with ota HDTV, I have Component for HD and s-video for SD. If I view a Digital broadcast (non HDTV or EDTV) in HD mode it looks the same in SD sometimes better (UPN Digital).

How big is the TV where talking about anyway.  If its less the 32 inches I would say any difference is negligable, but hey its only $30 for the ms pack so either way you don't have a lot to loose by seeing for yourself.
