First of all, what kind of HDTV do you have?  Second, the xbox dvd playback does not support 480p or any of the other higher resolutions unless you hex edit the dash to enable 480p.

i had the same problem before,

i hex edited my dvdx2 to display in progressive scan, and it seems to have gone away,

i'm using the monster 400x cables as well.
