I haven't made the time to make any comparison shots yet.  I've been working on getting my xpod finished up.

You're the second person to complain of excess jaggies on this setup.

Like I said before, you *will* notice some more jagginess due to the extreme sharpness of progressive mode.  A lot of game designers rely on composite/svideo pixels bleeding into each other to do some of their anti-aliasing for them.

I'd never call it fugly though, everyone who has seen my setup thinks it looks great.  Anyway you can get some digi-cam shots of your "fugly" screens so we can see what's going on?

hes talking about screenshotting direct source. Its like if you printscreen with your monitor on uber high brightness, the printscreen will always be the correct brightness, the monitor gets the signal then fiddles. Same thing is happening to him, its just the fact like catgut said, AA on xbox plop, because the low res of tv does it for you, But  putting it into uber crisp mode you can see more of the jaggies.

So what's preventing him from taking an image of the actual monitor display?

Turn some lights on in the room, turn the camera flash off and put it on a tripod so it can have a long exposure without blurring due to hand movement.

I'm really curious to see if your "fugly" halo looks different than mine.

Can anyone tell me the audio output on the x2vga+? Is it like a 3.5mm jack which i can split into 2xrca and plug into my stereo, or is there only digital out?

yeah but they look so damn cool! I to didnt want a TFT, but because of ghosting due to higher response times. This has a response time of 16ms which im told is 100% fine, i had a look at contrast ratios and they dont annoy me much, ill just fiddle with settings.
