The x2vga+ has no audio or video rca connections.  There is no question about it, because i'm looking at one that just arrived today.  But, the audio rca can be worked around with the y splitter i linked to in my previous post.

I can assure you when switch 1 and 2 are set to on and the x2vga+ power is off the audio input becomes composite video output, you will just have to use a cable that has rca on one end and microphone type jack on the other end, like the ones that come with camcorders.

Yep, you're right..  (I assumed there was no support for composite AV because of the connection type on the VGA box).  And I admit I didnt read the instructions =)

I tried the AV cable that came with my camcorder as you suggested.

It is a standard "3.5mm - 3 RCA" type cable.  E.g. Red/White (Audio) and Yellow (Video) cable.

I plugged the 3.5mm connection into the VGA box and the video (yellow) connection to the TV - but it didn't work.

I then tried another cable ("3.5mm - 2 RCA").  This time it worked!

I compared the 2 cables and recall reading somewhere that you can tell the difference between a stereo and mono cable by the 3.5mm connection.  E.g the stereo connections have 2 horizontal lines across the connection of the plug and the mono cables have only one.

Anyway, I noticed that the AV cable that came with my camcorder had 3 horizontal lines (i assume the extra one was for the video).

I decided to replug the cable that came with the camcorder again (but this time, with the Red (audio) connection).  Still no luck.

I then tried the white cable and voila - it worked!

(If you're going to use a "3.5mm - 3RCA" cable, try using the red and white connections if it doesn't work.  Eg. dont assume "yellow" is for video).

Hope this helps someone.

Cheers

Hi,

I need some help.  I got the X2VGA+ last week and I tried it out and it worked great.

But tonight when I tried it I got no signal at all.  The mode on the X2VGA was red (480p).  And when there was no game it was dark/off (480i).

What's going on?

thanks

Well I just received my X2VGA+ and have yet to plug it in, due to my box being on loan till the end of the week.  But I notice that it only has VGA in & out & Audio In & Out.  Are these audio plugs also for composite video?  I really don't get why they changed the design?

And does anyone here have the link to the manual?  The team kindly left that off their website.
