I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with the generic component and s-video cables available and if I'll notice a big difference considering I've only got a 20" TV

Component or S-Video cables of any quality should give you an improvement over the standard composite cable that came with the Xbox. The first thing is to upgrade the type of delivery to the TV then worry about the build quality of the cable.
From worst to best, for your TV are - RF, composite, s-video, component. If you are in Europe, and have an RGB SCART connector on the back of your set then that is the best. The quality that the Monster cables gives will have little impact on your set.

In other words, you don't think I'll notice a difference between the <$10 generic component cables and the $20 Micro$oft ones?

On your set, I doubt you'll see a difference.

No you wont...if you were over 27" or had an HDTV I would say yes but for your TV no.

rolleyes.gif And no you won't notice any difference between the official and cheap cables as long as they are wired correctly. In fact feel free to build one yourself to save further money, this way you can make sure it is done right also.Shielding is pretty much useless except for at the connectors which will be in all cables....unless you are passing the cables over very long distances.
