I have had this problem before. I discovered that the Parental control system was running. PC had disappeared from M$ Dash. I had to set my box to NTSC and change the XBE region to R1 with CFM. You will see PC return in the dash. Make sure it is off. Return your box to your default region if you wish. This operation cured my issue straight away. Try it and let us know.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. For me, it turned out to be the a/v wire. I got a new one and it worked right away.

alright i'll try the video boot disc

i tried another cable...same problem...plus i checked out this same cable on another xbox and it worked fine

You're right, maybe I wasn't paying attention.

Try this instead.

2. Blind Restore EEPROM if you have no Video image..
Usage: (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A VALID EEPROM.BIN in \DATA)
1) Boot ConfigMagic from DVD Drive
2) Press A button to Skip Video (press A untill you see the orange light flash)
3) Wait untill eject light flashes orange (flashing orange means ConfigMagic is ready)
4) To Start Hold BOTH triggers and press WHITE button !
5) Orange light stops flashing and stays steady (Steady orange means busy)
6) If successfull Eject light will Flash GREEN (Flash Green means success!)
*IF there was a problem loading/decrypting eeprom, Eject light will turn RED (Red means Error !)

Don't you have an easy way of temporarily turning off your modchip? I'd try that.

I saw from a newly thread that someone was experiecing no video either. He showed a picture of a burned/destroyed resister.

You probably experiencing the same problem due to a burned resiter.
The thread should still be up, it was in the hard modding setion. The resister was of 0ohms, and located on top of the video coder chip.

Mines is exactly like the one showned in the picture, and I am experiecing problem when turning on the xbox with no video. It might have to do something with that resister or not.
