Are you using the HD A/V pack?  Were you fooling with video settings?  Did you TV's input get changed?  Was the A/V cable pack loose?  When you tried the other XBOX was it on the same TV?

Try this.

Turn OFF the Xbox.

Remove the AC cord.

PRESS the power button (the xbox may flash momentarily).

Remove the video cord from the back of the Xbox.

Plug the power back in.

Remove the power again.

Again press the power button.

Now hook everything back up and turn it on.

Let us know how it goes.

what were you doing before you turned off the xbox?  is it modded?

nothing, i just turned it on but then i had to go eat so i turned it off like 20 seconds after the evo-x screen (which tells you it is modded) and then after eating i turned it on and it was messed up.


Its really weird

Ok so you just modded it?  Maybe one of your solder connections came undone.  Oh wait you still get sound.

It's possible. Open the unit and check the chip.

BTW: You don't "use" the capacitors.

They store an electric charge.

Even when you power the Xbox OFF it retains a charge for a while (which is why it doesn't loose the time right away).

This also keeps the electronics set to their previous state.

So if something TEMPORARILY screwed up your sound by accidentally misprogramming the audio chip, if you merely shut the Xbox off then on again, you'd be right back where you were before.

However if you DISCHARGE the capacitors (unplugging the AC and hitting the ON button) then the electronics are forced to start COLD and get properly reprogrammed.

Ok, so evox loads up ok with video, just games dont?

This sounds like a region/PAL issue to me.

Have you tried turning off your modchip?

Well, what happens when you turn off the modchip, and just use the MS Dashboard?!?

alright i tested the xodus mod chip using put 1 and 2 switches on and it was fine which tells me that the modchip is working. I dont want to take it out until later, until i am condfident there is no other solution.

Any other suggestions?
