im pretty confident on where to look to patch for 480p/i , i think it might be possible to patch to 720p. The only problem (aside 64mb) is that i wouldnt have enough bytes available and inserting more will cause problems as it moves things in the xbe. But im thinking that it might be possible to nop the lot and then maybe there is enough space to insert a jmp/sub routine (like the old group intros did?) to the end of the xbe where new code could be executed before returning.
I'm really interested in patching games for 720p and to use >64MB of RAM to see if they will run without issue on a 128MB modded xbox. It seems like it should work, modulo menu placement and other hard-coded coordinate issues (if any). It seems also that quite a few games that have lower memory requirements (direct ps2/gamecube ports) might be able to run in 720p without a 128MB xbox.
I'm very interested in testing this and coming up with a list of games, their hexedits, and the max resolution that can be reached with a 64MB and 128MB xbox. I'm finding it difficult to collate all this information from the disparate sources on the net, and this is the only post I've seen that even mentions trying 720p!
Let me know if/how I can help, and if you had any luck with specific games in 720p!
Thanks in advance!
