Vga <-> Green Xbox No Compatibility?
« on: April 16, 2004, 07:02:00 AM »

just hooked up the Halo edition XBOX to my X2VGA pack and computer monitor and the colors are off! (everything comes up pink and too dark, as if a color pin wasn't connecting). I put my regular old black XBOX in the same setup and it works perfectly.  I've tried 2 diff. green XBOX's and they both do it...
can somebody else confirm this problem and/or figure it out?

on another note, I tried the new Xbox on an analog TV and I swear to Yahweh the graphics are considerably better...hardware update perhaps? Maybe these two things are related.....

What type of video encoder is in the xbox?
Maybe it's a new one...

I highly doubt it, but if for some reason this is true, it is just another reason for me to go out and buy the new xbox halo special edition.

Flip toggle 3 on the X2GA to the opposite of what it is now, it fixed my problem with the purpleness on my new green Xbox.

Yes, that is how I have mine. You probably have an older X2VGA that does NOT work with the Focus chipsets, I got mine this year. Send off an email to X2VGA, they will send a replacement unit if you send your current one back.

Neoya (being the great company that they are) emailed me back in the same day and have advised me to send my x2vga back to them as all x2vga's delivered before the middle of December 2003 are known to have this compatiblity problem with certain Xboxs.

You should contact Neoya who will give you an address to send the x2vga back to and a paypal address to deposit a further $5 handling charge for their convenience. Mine was sent back today and I am hoping to be able to enjoy Dreamcast quality vga visuals once more but on the xbox.
