you need some sort of mod, either a modchip, flashed TSOP or softmod

if you dont want to spend the money on a chip TSOP is the way to go

Well, I know it is quite overwhelming, but the answer is way too long. Most people prefer modchips because it gives you more options but people like TSOP flashing because it is cheaper. Read up and try to figure out what the differences are cuz there is too much to list.

some modchips also let you hold more bios so if you wanted to boot linux and then you wanted to boot evox and then avalaunch later then you can have all those bios on one modchip.
Modchips are easier to install than tsop aswell.
