that's interesting.. does your projector have separate inputs for 480i inputs and for 480p/720p/1080i formats?  I ask this since on my setup (infocus X1) these inputs are seperate.

I think what you're seeing is the progressive format through your interlaced input.  Hope that helps

Q. are you seeing this double image in the games or in the dash or where?

Ms Dash/Unpatched DVD player are 480i always.  If you've enabled 480p (which almost everything else supports) your problem is in viewing the 480p material.

This is basically a matter of whichever input or connection method you are using not supporting 480p.  I don't know your projector but try a different input.  Keep in mind that as previously stated a lot of projectors have separate inputs for 480i and all other material (480p/720p/1080i).  Another input might well give you 480p but prevent you from seeing the MS dash/unpatched DVD player unless you do the hex edits in the sticky at the top.  Obviously using Live will require a workaround since an unpatched dash won't work with the mod off.

I have seen this before on a CRT set that didn't support progressive on the component inputs.

Check the manual and check to see if there is a setting that needs to be changed so it accepts the progressive input.

Also make sure that it accepts HD signals @ 60Hz. Some projectors sold in PAL territories only accept HD inputs at 50Hz only.

well guys i checked my projector book and this what it say
15 kHz RGB/component 50/60 Hz,
Progressive Component 50/60 Hz
DTV (480/60i, 575/50i, 480/60p,
 575/50p, 720/60p, 720/50p, 1080/60i, 1080/50i, 1080/24PsF,
compisite video, Y/C video

so my guess is it supports both Hz's so any other ideas

It's defintiely a 480p problem.  When my tv switches from 480i to 480p there is a double image briefly and then it goes clear.  If you are absolutely sure your projector supports it then it could be a problem with your unit, cables, anything.  If you can test it with a 480p DVD player (separate from Xbox) it would narrow it down.  I'll tell you though, my hunch is that you are going to find it's your projector either not setup right, having an issue that needs to be fixed, or requiring a different input.  With this problem there just aren't too many things that can be wrong.  Not as if there's a magic switch on the Xbox that you aren't flipping.

I think may be your projector does not support 480p.  I have a benQ DX650 and used teh HDTV pack and it does not show teh game & the evox dashboard properly, I get 2 images one to the left and one to the right of the screen.

But when I play soul calibre 2, which is a 720p game, it's ok, no problem.

I also plugged the HDTV cable via VD-Z3 and used it and I don't see the double image, I thnk it's because the projector supports 640x480 (weird becoz it does not support 480p, I think)...

But I do have one prob though... for games with 480p & the evox dashboard, I can only see 90% of the screen when I use VD-Z3 (I lose about 10% of the right of the screen) but no prob when I play soul calibre 2 again.

May be u have the same prob as me? Oh, now I realised I have a prob too!! :(
