Anyone Else Have Strange Combing Artifacts?
« on: January 26, 2004, 04:47:00 PM »

Something's been bothering me since I bought my Xbox three months ago.  I've noticed that in many games where there are FMV sequences, I get this weird combing effect from the video.  Things look all interlacey and jagged and broken up.  This isn't just in old games but it also appears in new games (ESPN Basketball comes to mind, during the "Features" FMV clip).  Anyone know what could be the cause of this?

There are some other really irritating bugs too.  In ESPN Basketball, I very frequently get random Dirty Disc Errors and am forced to manually reset my Xbox when I use custom soundtracks.  During the very first in-game cinema sequence when you start a new game in Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, the graphics stutter big time during the shot of the bridge, and even locks up/resets to the dashboard at times.  All these glitches are really bothering me, and they doesn't seem like they've been fixed in the newer software so I'm concerned that I may find some potentially fatal bug in a title I buy in the future.  Anyone else experience similar problems like I have?
