Using the X2VGA you should take some photos of games that run in 720 and 1080i to show off the difference.

480i vs 720p (Tony Hawk, Soul calibur {dont care that its not 16/9} and or tony hawk 4)

480i vs 1080i (Dragions lair/Brokensword:the SLeeping dragon/Enter the matrix/syberia)

Would be a good post for those thinking about buying a x2vga

I wonder how the x2vga would perform on a television that has PC monitor input (not DVi)

Not true. A computer monitors dot pitch is much smaller than any HDTV out there. My sony flat crt 19" computer monitor gives a noticably better picture via x2vga/or vga bios in 480p, then my friends sony trinitron 36" HDTV in 480p. The signal is not the only issue here, the monitor is just a much.

Nice pictures. Goes to show how much an improvement component cables are over composite for those questioning it before.

And the review of the VD-Z3 transcoder was interesting. That little 480i feature was pretty cool since it let users display 480i images as in the MS dash without going through too much hassle.

HDTV is no where near VGA. Try getting a TV that does 1600 x 1200 resolution. At 27 inches I dont know what that is in cm. (44?) you be paying an about 2000 U.S. on the other hand a 40 inch plasma starts at 2500 US for Decent Quality and basic fetures. For video and arcade style games HDTV is excellent; but the level of detail that can be achieve in first person shooters and other 3D intensive games is far greater on a true VGA monitor. Its not a size issue persay look at the best 19 inch TV you will see pixles then get as close as you can to a 19 inch vga screen and you have to strain your eye to see a pixle.

I have a 1080i set and it is no where near a princston Graphics 32inch vga tv monitor. When I said VGA I meant XVGA. I dont think they even make just VGA anymore except for plasma and lCD TVs and the like. A true computer monitor is much better than a TV of any definition lower than SVGA.
