I would do one of the following:
1. Switch to NTSC mode and buy an X2VGA
2. Switch to NTSC mode and build a VGA cable
3. Stick to using a TV and save my money

Dont waste your cash on a line doubler. You'll be dissapointed.

Which gives the best output?

Does the X2VGA correct the infamous green colour problem?

And.. a question.

There are now line doublers that output up to 1024*768 resolution.
Anyone tried these?  They are pretty new.  Logic3 make one but they are not available to purchase yet.

Dunno, never tried or seen them.

But about some of the games needing tp be patched. I can't remember which one's but I am sure some (NTSC and/or PAL) worked with the progscan patcher program. I also remember that one or two of them that didn't display, could be patched correctly but still wouldn't display, so yeah it's annoying.

I could never get Timesplitters 2, NBA Street 2 or NFL 2K3 to work at all.

it's stupid that the pal xbox does not support HDTV. coz I was thinking of using the x2vga, but its kinda useless if it doesn't work with pal.

i think its because that not many or if any "PAL" countries TV has progressive scan support. this is the reason it was taken out. only support we got in the game was the 60Hz option. this was the same for the PAL Gamecube. but it supported a RGB signal while the NTSC never wink.gif  But it is stupid to disable these options as the option is only available when a correct cable is used dry.gif  best thing to do is get the xbox modified and convert the video signal to NTSC.

edit: when modified to NTSC all games NTSC and PAL will run in progressive scan. but few won't which mentioned by corkinator
