I'm not sure about DVI, but people have been doing the VGA mod for a while. It's touch and go as far as full functionality, and while I haven't done it myself yet, but it sounds like it's ass kicking. You'd need a VGA-enabled BIOS first off (unfortunately, there isn't one smaller than 512KB), and you'd need to know whether your monitor can handle Sync-on-Green (since the Xbox puts the sync signal along with the green signal). If your monitor can handle SoG, then you just need to wire up a cable...otherwise, you'd have to add a small circuit revolving around an LM1881 chip (that chip, a capacitor, and a capacitor and resistor in parallel). Search for "HD Pack" ad the name gerzand in the forum to find a diagram that will give you an idea of the work needed to add that circuit (it doesn't look as painful as it sounds, actually).
