Use Boxplorer or FTP to go into your Xbox - the file names should not be changed by a transfer (if the file name is incompatible the xbox refuses the transfer).

Are you looking at the names through XBMP?  I'm betting you can go into the settings and disable the Tag info on your MP3s.  I think when they were ripped someone named them but never added the tag info for the proper name of the song.
