I got an x2vga and have had no problems with the video side of the equation. However, I wanted to be able to use the optical output on the unit to play back 5.1 sound through my computer speakers. Here's my my problem. When I hook up the optical cable from the x2vga to my sound card, and fire up the xbox, it makes all the sounds it's supposed to. When it starts into the game, I have no sound.
I have an external usb 2.0 audigy 2 nx with optical input. I'm using Logitech Z-640 5.1 speakers.
I've plugged in a mini disc deck using the same port and it works with no problem.
The only way I get sound through the optical cable is to go into my xbox audio settings and change it from dolby sorround to stereo.
Otherwise, the audio connector that I got for free with my x2vga works, but it's not in 5.1.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
