Optical Cable Problem
« on: January 03, 2004, 07:34:00 AM »

first of all, I have a 5.1 dd surround system with my xbox hooked with an optical cable and a dvd player with a coaxial cable..
if I run a dvd from my dvd player, all goes find. it plays in dolby digital and I can see the small icon(center, sub, left, right, left surround, right surround) on my amplifier.
but if I run the same DVD from my xbox(DD surround activate in the menu) I just the the icon of left and right and really dont have a 5.1 sound!
if I put the system in "auto-detection" mode it puts the xbox in pro logic II enhanced...but I want the damn Dolby Digital!

I know its not the xbox dash settings cuz my system take DTS and DD

and I have looked at my optical...its not the problem, he is brand new and I can see the light at the other end...

any1 knows whats the prob?
thx.

You have to select that you want digital audio on your XBOX dash.
