Pelican Component High Def And My Philips Hdtv

- Does your component input on the television accept a 480i signal?  (a few tv's component inputs only accept 480p and either 720p or 1080i)

The issue here is that you can't see your dashboard to enable 480p output so everything will be 480i.  Once you enable the 480p output (you need the HDTV pack connected to the xbox to even have this option to turn on/off) games will output in 480p (you should be able to see them if this is indeed your problem) but the dash will always be 480i (you can patch it for non-Live, i.e. modchip on, use only through my signature link).

Dash is always 480i.  I don't think your TV accepts 480i with the input you are using.  Progpatcher for the Xbox dash hasn't been updated in a long time.  You can do the manual hex edit yourself in about 2 minutes - see the link in my signature and read the thread.  You will only be able to access the patched dash with your modchip on so don't overwrite the original.  Just call the new one pxboxdash.xbe and link it from evox.
