You know what, I have the same problems. I do think that i know what causes it, heat. It is especially bad in Amped 2, but only happens after i have been playing a lot of something else, like say watching movies in xbmp/c, it also doesnt happen if i play with it cool after turning it on. The backup issue doesnt matter because amped is a backup. I use the m$ hi def av pack. I am toying with the idea of adding another fan to try and correct the issue, it wont be for a while though. Let me know if you find a suitable fix for it, in case it isnt heat.
