Best Svga Adapter To Xbox

For Xbox purposes, it is almost irrelevant what resolution your monitor supports, because most games only support 640X480p, (480p) and almost, if not all monitors support that res.  As for 720p which is 1280X720p (16X9) and 1280X768p (4:3), if you monitor can go up to 1280X768, than that is all you need for some High-def gaming on your PC monitor, you don't and won't ever need a monitor that can go up to 2048X1536p for Xbox gaming.  Your 17" monitor will work great, as long as the contrast ratio isn't too terrible.

shadymilkman,

with nearly all 19" monitors you can reach every mode available in xbox games.

640i = 640x480 interlaced
640p = 640x480 progressive
720p = 1440x720 progressive
1080i = 1920x1080 interlaced

I use my x2vga on my 21" trinitron, and Enter The Matrix looks amazing at 1080i as well as Amped 2.

just recieved my x2vga yesterday. it does work, but i'm not too pleased with it...yet. i have a 22" mitsubishi 2040u, and tried connecting it with both a regualar vga cable and a 5bnc cable but every game has a reddish tint (tried many different rgb color combos...turning down red makes the game dark), or needs adjustment of gamma (my monitor can only do contrast and brightness).

any help? i hope it's not a defective unit. or is this just how it's supposed to look? at the moment i'm playing my xbox through svideo through my tv tuner...

Always assume that the cheapest part is the faulty one.  I would suggest testing out the monitor from a PC perspective, and if it functions properly, I would say the VGA adaptor is at fault.
