Best Svga Adapter To Xbox

I haven't seen it in action, but OXM gave the Neoya X2VGA adapter some nice reviews.  you can see it in the September 2003 issue (came with disc #22)

OXM +/- are:
Pros-- Simple setup, Steller performance.  weird but cool interlace mode.
Cons-- Expensive.  No VGA cable supplied.
total rating: 9.0

I'd type up the whole review for ya, but I already posted this reply and can't go back to change it.

I got an X2VGA and it works pretty well. I have a blurring problem with their free switch box but I really didn't expect much from that switch box anyways.

Guys...

I've ordered mine, should be here in a few weeks...

But I have a question for you, I understand that the MS Dashboard isnt compatible at 480p so you need the switch, but my question is, is the evo-x menu ok with it or is that still at the same resolution?

Cheers All....

Evox works sweet in either 480i or 480p, and all (bar one or two) homebrew apps work great with 480p. As for the M$ dash, you can hex edit it for 480p or even auto if you switch back to 480i often.
Search for 'hex edit' or 'progressive patch' in this forum.

Guys...

It arrived today.

I CANT BELEIVE THE QUALITY !!!!

Man!, I am sooo jealous of u US guys with HDTV's... damn the UK's PAL system...

Have spent most of the evening going through My catalogue of games.... what a difference this thing makes!

And it was so easy to set up!

BTW anyone reading from the UK, it took 9 days from the payment being taken, to it arriving on my doorstep.

So you have no excuses... go buy one!

Did you have to pay duty?

Also...

I'm confused by this statement on the order page. I assume you have a european xbox?

However, the Xbox consoles sold in North America, Japan, etc. which belong to the NTSC version, will work fine with X2VGA. Please take note of this in advance. We will not accept exchange or refund for this cause.

X2VGA is a quality product, but in my opinion, Ken Gasper's VGA adaptors are better.  The Easyview feature isn't THAT great of an asset to the adaptor, and I wouldn't make my decision on buying the adaptor because of the Easyview feature.  Both Ken's and the X2VGA support 480p, 720p and 1080i.   wink.gif

you got a link to that where I can check it out at?  I've been wanting to get the x2vga, but the price is somewhat out of reach for me seeing as how I am a lazy bum who doesn't like to work and doesn't manage money well...

if you say there's better for possibly cheaper, I just might have to get off my ass and so something.  unsure.gif

Actually PAL kicks NTSC's ass in terms of quality however as you say the American and Japanese HDTV kicks everything in the ghoulies  wink.gif

I also had the same reaction to you when i checked it out on my monitor seeing as my previous setup was a shitty 50hz only PAL TV which couldn't even display red properly and flickered insanely when NTSC games ran.

Now its sweet as hell   smile.gif

PAL has sucked, does suck, and will always suck. so you get a few more lines of resolution. Trying to watch anything at 50Hz will drive a person to murder!!

Holy crap the x2vga does rule! I just got mine today and I just tried out a ton of my games. Last week I hooked my xbox up to my friends HDTV with the HDTV pack and the x2vga looks just as good. I recommend it to any one who wants a crystal clear picture but doesn't have 2 grand to blow on an HDTV. BTW I have a Samtron 17' flat screen crt monitor and my games have never looked better.

Hello

My xbox is a modded UK PAL, which i then switched over to NTSC with the enigmah video switcher.

As for duty for coming into the UK, I thought that was only aplicable after certian figure such as £150?

But to put your mind at rest there wasnt any, nor did customs open up the box either.

Cheers!
