I have seen the X2VGA and the Key Digital KX-DB.

I would never go with the X2VGA.

The KX-DB has a completely transparent pass through ( so that I can use both my PC and the Xbox without a switchbox. Xbox is on: I see the Xbox image. Xbox is off: I see the PC image on the Monitor).

The KX-DB originally was over $200, now it is less than $70. It comes with a 2 year warranty as well: so it is for me (and several of my buddies) by far the best solution, as it provides a very clean and sharp picture - with great additional benefits (warranty, pass through)... ( And I do not really trust products from Hong - Kong, as I have been burned once on warranty - so that also goes against the X2VGA...)

Eh, I originally had one of these.

The Neoya blows it out of the water.

The difference is amazing.

BTW: I just got some newer XBOXes in so I'll check compatibility.

Ok, yes I can confirm an incompatibility with 1.5 xboxes and the  X2VGA.

Have any of you used the VDZ3?

Is this better than X2VGA?

I can't find reviews.

Hi , i need to know if the Neoya company (those who sell the x2vga) use UPS ( http://www.ups.com ) for SHIPPING the package to you? Or maybe they use USPS ( http://www.usps.com ) ? It might seem stupid to ask but i can't get stuff shipped by UPS because i live in a kind of remote area. I hope they use USPS

Anyone knows?

Well i have been using the X-Blaster with a TaTung L54 LCD SVGA Colr display monitor and it works pretty damn good, the only noticeable problem is that for some reason the display screen on some games is all the way to the left so you have to move it over but when your actually playing the game it displays a full screen with no problems works great on xbox live games like crimson skies, espn 2k5 and couterstrike as well as on xbc connect to.I got the xblaster so i could play my gamecube on the screen to and windwaker is assume as well as PSO to.I have not tried my PS2 yet but if you have multiple systems its the way to go for 59 bucks at copperbox.com and it cost me 70 shipped so and unfortunately for the gamcube the only composite cable was fom nintendo for 30 bucks but madcatz makes a composite cabee that will hookup an xbox and ps2 for 10 bucks and it woks good

Really Not A Perfect Device
Review by: Nguyen Ngoc Chuc (1) on August 9th, 2004
Works well with my CRT monitor and PAL 50hz or NTSC, but the input VGA connector is jerky as when you display your PC desktop through this VGA Box, you can get a mess of pixels; and to prevent this you have to play precisely with the exact position of your monitor cable on the connector; moreover the tint colors are completely messed if you play games in PAL 60 hz, and even when trying all the possible settings of the box to get the original tints of the game on the monitor, there is no way to correct this.. So definitely not the best working VGA box.

No Good Box.
Review by: Ben (1) on July 5th, 2004
Be warned. It says it works with most tft lcd monitors. Well, 'most' means there's a chance it won't work with yours. I need to connect a dvd player to a 640*480 Panoview, I chose this box because the xvga box doesn't offer this resolution. This box doesn't work with my monitor It flickers uselessly. I hope to return it asap. Not pleased.

VGA Goodness smile.gif
Review by: James Strain (18) on May 19th, 2004
Being a mega-gamer...I have lots of consoles and PCs hooked up about my house. Soon I'll be going to University though, and won't have room. I don't watch TV but need one for my consoles. The answer - VGA!

This unit lets me easily plug and play my home consoles into my PC Monitor. Simple to set-up and easy to get used to, this device not only saves space but saves time too happy.gif

The downside? The actual screen output doesn't seem to be upto that of a TV (at least with my monitor). It makes the picture slightly blurred and changes the colours...but this could be because of the PAL/NTSC auto-switching.

Over-all = Not a needed accesory...but a good one to save some space with.

Problems With TFT Monitor
Review by: Jens Michlo (18) on May 18th, 2004
Quick delivery. Picture Quality could be better - component seems to work best for me - other input generates a signal below specification of my LCD. LCD sometimes looses sync and i have to swith it off an on again to correct the position of the signal.

I bought this for use with my PAL Xbox on a 17" LG Flatron Monitor. I have tried with both Xbox component cables and S-Video. To my surprise the picture was in fact better with the S-Video cable than the component. The component cable created faint but noticeable red, green and blue vertical lines on the monitor display. I find it quite usable with the S-Video cable though, and once you get engrossed in a game you tend not to notice the slightly blurry display. The display quality was arguably better on the Gamecube using the dedicated Gamecube Redant VGA Box. I have not tried this with PS2 or DVD input. This box also requires mains power via the adapter that is included whereas the Redant is self powered (or should I say powered by the Gamecube).

I agree. I've been using the Xblaster and have been amazed by it.  It's now 59$.  (earlier it was 50 but was bumped up again sad.gif ) But the biggest buying factor for me was being able to use it with my gamecube with games that support progressive scan.  The X2VGA works with the Xbox and nothing else, where as the Xblaster works with the Xbox, gamecube, PS2, DVD player or anything else that uses component cables and supports 480p and up.  Come to think about it I may be able to use this when the NeXt Box comes out. biggrin.gif  That's the real money saver right there.  The pass through port is VERY handy and I don't need to switch cables constantly.  I guess it isn't a "direct connection" although seeing how the Xblaster uses a AC adaptor to boost the signal it does a very nice job in my opinion.  I'm very satisfied.

Is there a reason no one really talks about the VD-Z3 that much?  It seems to me that it would be a better purchase than the X2VGA because it can convert any component capable device.  The next generation consoles are sure to be way better looking, and almost certainly support HD graphics.  The VD-Z3 will be able to be used with them and it is unknown at this time what type of plug the new xbox will be using, so wouldn't it be logical to buy one that can forsure be used with it?  Is there something i am just missing here or what?

Well yes as the X-Blaster was discontinued last year and the only place i know of that has a stock of them is copperbox .com.plus the fact that the x-blaster was origanally 200 bucks also burned a lot of people who bought it then they dropped it to 59 bucks.basically it is no longer available and the X2VGa is the only vga adapter currently available on  a regular basis even the adapter from that ken guy takes over a month to get.so that is why no one really talks about it causeonly people with multiple systems ever use it and since most people here only have xboxes they go with the X2vga.

By the way the X-Blaster is stiil available at copper box

I am sorry i thought you were taking about xblaster my bad ,But now that i realize your talking about the VDIGI adapter basically they are never in stock so most people go to the x2vga  and buy it because it is in stock

about the encoder that uses all component video connections: what kind of person who has a life and mods an xbox actually would put the time into getting a HD cable for a GC? (dont be offended if u do, GC has some good games) Also, i would think MS would keep the same connector (for the video/audio cables) for the xbox 2. It seems logical to me. But then, M$'s lawsuit against the XP SP2 torrent was not logical, so who knows what satan's moneymachine will do next...

Yeah, i wasn't thinking so much about gamecube games, although it could be kinda fun to play them in HD, i was thinking more for the next generation Nintendo or PS3.  I agree that it would make sense to keep the same plug for the xbox 2, but again, it is MS.  Another aplication could be using the VGA box with a DVD player, but i can already do that with my computer, so i have no use for it that way.  Basiclly i just think it would be more convienient to have a VGA box that would convert all devices that can output in HD, and was wondering why no one else thought that way.  I guess if they (VDIGI) can't keep their product in stock its kinda hard to sell it.  Well thanks for answering my questions.

I don't fully understand your post, but as far as the best adapter goes i would go for the X2VGA mainly due to it's advanced design and it's useful 480i EasyView feature so that you can view the Live Dashboard on the monitor.

I just ordered mine as an upgrade from the Key Digital X-Blaster.
