Sure will. The AVIP plugs on consumer leads have jumpers in them such that when you plug say an RGB lead in, the video encoder in the box sees this and through internal software configures itself to RGB. Another lead will have different jumpers on it. There are a few ways around the problem, one being from Gerzand, and one from myself; there are others.

I have installed an 8 way dip switch that enables me to have either o/p running at will, so long as there is NO AVIP lead in the back. Vice versa if I want to use an AVIP lead the dips must be off.

Dips 1-3 select one of the 4 bios banks (X2.2pro)
Dips 4-5 select write protect and retail/chip mode.
Dips 6-8 select video format o/p
