Music From A Dat File

I have nascar 2004 and want the sound tract i found what i think is the music the file is called "NMUSIC.DAT" so i was wondering if it is possible to convert it into a format like WAV or MP3 WMA so i can put it on a cd and listen to it when i am away from the game?

I also would like to know how to extract music from a game I know you can do it on ps2 but the programs dont seem to work with xbox files.
