The only av pack that supports dolby 5.1 is the advanced av packs (component).  And it is only digital, not rca (analog).

any speaker system that takes rca plugs into it is not true dolby digital souround sound... you need a digital input like coaxil or optical... best way to work this is get the advance pack, dolby digital reciever, and speaker package......

not true dolby surround? speakers arn't dobly surround at all. dolby surround is a sound format. if the speakers only have an rca input, that means they have no decoder. you buy a decoder - you have dolby digital. simple biggrin.gif

Yeah, you need to have a decoder to actually have true 5.1 or DTS sound... then you plug the speakers to your decoder and you are ready to go!

For the cheaper option, other than getting a reciever, and speakers etc, just get the Logitech z680's. These are VERY good, AMAZING bass.

Also, have inbuilt DD and DTS decoder onboard and also has RCA/3.5mm and S/PDIF connectors too.
