You can only get the true DTS digital signal through the optical input.
If you are not hooking up to a DTS receiver, don't worry about it.

the price between theese 2 cables is quite a bit. will there be any noticeable diffrence in quality? cable 1 cable 2 . or would i be better off getting the hdtv cable?

look at my guide Tutorial

and get the cheaper cheaper cable, unless you're a video guru you won't notice a difference

and componenet transfers video not audio

I would suggest that you get the MS HD pack with the component video and the fibre optic cable... this is by far the best way to hook up your x-box to your TV and your home theatre......... component video will allow you to get HDTV on your TV (720P and 1080i) and it will upconvert all of your games to at least 480P, as long as your TV is HDTV and im going to assume that considering you just bought your TV that it is HDTV, I would not get a square TV either, get a widescreen, 34" if you want to stay with a tube TV.  if your not hooking your system up to a amp, then you will have to run straight audio out to your TV (left and right rca cables)
