Component Vs S-video

No I didn't get messed up, I've noticed a lot of TV's have S-Video now, but I have noticed that component is moving in too. I didn't know that S-Video seperated parts of the picture. Also, what I meant by them seperating the audio from the picture is that they don't transmit them in their included cables.

notice a diff between s-vid/composite.

but on my room tv, a 20 inch, i have XG composite +s-video cables for my xbox.
i have this weird problem thats startin to get anoyin
ok, i power up the xbox, then turn on the tv.
its pluged in alright, but no pic/sound.
so i reboot the xbox, and there it is! every time it does this, i have to start then restartfor a picture.

ut sumtimesss, i mean teh odd time, i wont have to.
i have tried doing things like startin it with teh tv on etc.

For those of you looking for the difference between S-video and Composite, I would say the biggest difference you will notice is in the sharpness of the picture.  Composite will have a softer look than S-Video will.  When people can't see the difference between the two types I often put something up on the screen that has text in it (like a satellite TV program guide) and you can immediately see that the text is sharper when viewed through the S-Video signal.
