Xbox Multiport Avip Switch

My box is still undergoing mods, but just for you I put the back panel together, (forgot VGA screws) to show what I am doing. I don't think it will solve all your problems but I can select composite, svideo, component, RGBCs, VGA15 and VGA31 analogue audio, electrical and optical out, and AVIP.

You are likely to come across and few issues even if you could find someone to supply you AVIP connectors to make a switcher. If you plan to make an ALL pin switcher, you will be fine, so long as you only want to use one output at a time. If you want to use more than one output at a time then you may well run in to crosstalk, sync and brightness issues. Crosstalk is where 2 or more devices are viaing for access to a display in this case and they interfere with each other. Ussually diagonal lines, or a ghost shadow, appear on the display. If more than one device is on, you may also have differing sync pulses (signals that tell the display where the start of the field is and when to start a new one). The display may not sync at all. Lastly, when 2 or more devices are physically connected together, as in using a 'Y' splitter, you are more than likely to see a reduction in brightness. Buffering negates this issue, but that means an active circuit. You could try buying a load of cheap xbox composite leads and making several AVIP to scart leads, leaving off the audio connections. Plug these in to an active scart switcher. It may work so long as the scart switcher does not have any circuitry that allows adjustment or conditioning of the video signal.
