Do I Need To Update My Dash On Xbox 1 To Do A Softmod?
« on: December 22, 2006, 04:37:00 PM »

Hi

I have just got another Xbox 1 I want to use for XBMC in my bedroom. I alredy have a chipped Xbox 1. The un mooded Xbox 1 has a dash v of 4917 i think (defo not 5960 which is the latest version of dash on Xbox 1).

My question is I have got the memorycard and Splinter cell of a friend to do the softmod, but Ive read about the dash must be updated to 5960.

How (if I have to) do I do this? I have read about ..some.. games (dunno which) or to ftp when U use slayers disk 9but then read DO NOT use slayers disk for softmodding etc

please, please help I have two Xbox 1s, and the cheapest way I heard is softmodding.

cheers

through good ol' halo 2 into the tray and fire it up, the dashboard should automatically update to the new one

then softmod away my friend!

Here to punching M$ in the stomach yet again with another softmod!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Just to expand on the reply above me, You have to insert Halo 2 or a newer game that is XBOX LIVE ENABLED

Once you are in the game, just select the Xbox Live menu and it updates for you. I personally used X Men Legends 2 because it was cheap

You do not need the newest dash for Krazie's NDURE install (choose Minimum). You will need to update if you want to run dual or tri-boots later, but you can do it manually by getting the dash off of Slayer's disc and putting it in the MSDASHBOARD directory of Krayzie's Extras, then running the "update dashboard functionality" command.
