you can see the files? just not access them?
try deleting the XBMC save in the original dash.
also, do you have simple file sharing enabled in XP? maybe disabling it you can see exactly who has access to ur shared folders. can you access them from another PC in ur home network? make sure if ur sharing the folder Movies or Music, that all the sub folders inherit the same permissions.
