Progressive Scan With New M$ Dashboard
« on: July 29, 2005, 08:13:00 PM »

looking for a way to make the m$ dash progressive again. I had mine working forever, then a buddy loaded ghost recon and it updated the dash and nuked my original m$dash   that was patched for progressive... so can anyone tell me what values to hexedit in the later dashboard releases to get progressive scan. the values given in other old threads i remembered dont work..

thanks

press both thumbsticks+L+R and it shoudl switch, there is no need for hex editing on the newest M$ dashboard beerchug.gif

it was better before with the autodetect...

has anyone found a way to hex edit it?

plus movies seem to only play in 480i not 480p, this  both thumbsticks+L+R only seems to work in teh dashboard

here you go....

To patch the original ms xbox dashboard, open xboxdash.xbe in a hex editor:

Search for: C7 46 28 20 00 00 00

Replace with: C7 46 28 00 00 00 00

This auto switches to progressive scan when your hooked up to a progressive enabled tv, and it will do interlace when hooked up to a interlace only tv.

Hope this helps.

Not sure what version my ms dashboard is, but i know this works as i done it myself and  it's been working fine for a long time now, in hi-def.

I also just patched it again this morning and now it's region free as well for dvd playing (seeing as the latest xbmc does'nt want to play dvd's at the moment).

anyway have fun.....
