There dident seem to be a catagory for this, so i posted here. If a mod wants to move my post go ahead, I wasent sure what forum to post in.

A friend of mine was messed up his Xbox by either erasing something important with boXpolrer or the M$ live updates messed something up.

Hes has a homebrew chip flashed with the latest xecutor bios installed w/ a switch, with the mod on, the box boots evox and works just fine. but when switched off, the box gives me a error #21 (unexplained error).

I was thinking just erase everything on C: and load up the files from my working xbox to it. Will that fix it? If not, what can I do to fix it?

Kind-of the wrong place to ask this.. there is a Live board here at XS..

Boot an EvolutionX disc and put a backup of C: back on. Error 21 basically means important files are missing on C:

if he checks drive c, he should have most important, xboxdash.xbe and in his .ini file of his evox the secandary ms dash to be named that ...

but he has to know his xbox version ... and ofcoase some sourses to get the back up off the net... or, what he can do is buy the same version of xbox and then install mod, back up the c, and then transfer the missing file to the messed up xbox............ a lot of work but if he wants his live working then thats his way out... but also it could have been the new xbox live shit.... he has a cheep mod.... so this is what he doesnt probbly know.... there was a forum on this, xbox live connects to ur xbox and cxhecks if u have illegal bios even if u arent connecting to it urself... they catch u while ur on a dashboard doing whatver... only if u have the ethernet wire connected and modem running... i keep mine unplugged... to be safe ofcorse ...

I dident know they checked your xbox even if your not on live... Anyways do you have any idea on where to DL a backup of a working C: drive? (if this is a illegal request please disregard, i dont think its illegal tho)

i donno, i called xbox-wired repair and they said they can fix my one broken xbox which the harddrive crashed.... they said the ycan back it up so its not illegal ....

aight, use a slayers install disc to boot up, use the option restore C drive on the slayers. Install evox again with the option just install evox and u should be set.
